Stretching the road a bit
My oncology surgeon just called and said that he was having some scheduling problems and would I mind having my Whipple on Wed Jun 6 instead of Fri Jun 1. Not really a request that one can refuse. Besides which, there are several benefits of postponing for 6 days:
- Gives my body a bit more time to recover from laparoscopy and stent replacement.
- The hospital staff is reduced a bit on weekends, so I'm likely to get better care after my surgery.
- I get to watch the second Warriors/Cav game.
So hang on to those good wishes and positive thoughts a bit longer.

I think your second point is very true. You should get better care during the week than on the weekend. We'll be thinking of you on the 6th and sending positive thoughts.

Yes, you're much better off if you don't have your most immediate post-op recuperation over a weekend. You want the A team that you'll get during the week. Now we want to Warriors A team to do its magic.
