Home at last!
After 14 days in hospital I was finally able to come home yesterday, but the doctors still have me on a string. My incision is not healing as they would wish, so I have a big bandage with a plastic tube that connects to a little suction box that makes quiet little clucking and farting noises as it drains the wound.
A home care nurse is to stop by every other day to change that dressing. But at least I can go see my long-time hair dresser, Chris, and get a proper shampoo for the first time in two weeks!
Next up will be a discussion with my medical oncologist about further cancer treatments.

Marian, Hooray, you are home. Hot summer days are here now so stay cool! With love, Sarah + CHRC gals
Congratulations, Marian. There's no place like home. Shall we bring you a chocolate milkshake from the Palo Alto Creamery?
Ooohh -- Lolly & I remember her little bag I had to dump and reattach -- but it'll be over before long. You've weathered a lot in two weeks. Glad you're home. Get a nice rest and you'll be back playing bridge again . . .
Welcome home Marian! A bumpy road, to be sure, but hooray for progress. We've got your back! Love, Mary and Bob
Fantastic news!! Everyday will get better!
Being at home is always better! I'm glad to hear of your progress.
So glad to hear you're at home. That's the best place to be. Maybe you should name that little clicking box, make a pet out of it? At any rate -- here's hoping the forward movement is faster from here on. Hugs to both you and Dave.
Good - finally some good news. We hope there are no more unpleasant surprises for you. I also think you should find a name for the little suction box that makes interesting noises.
So glad you are home Marian. Take it slow and easy
Hooray, Marian!! So happy you’re home. I bet Dave will be a whiz at making cherry jello! Hugs to you both.
I propose, el pollo pedos.
Ok. What city is it in?
Love it! So glad you're home Marian. Glad also you get to have a proper shampoo. That always feels so good!
Super news! Hope this is just the beginning of more and more good news! Please keep posting! We care😍
That is a great name for it!
The nickname for my wound vacuum was Dave's contribution, not mine. Personally, I don't intend to have a long enough relationship to need a name at all -- "It" is enough.
How are you doing Marian?
Hi Marian! I did it--made the big jump into the Blog Universe. :) I told Mom to just update me, but then I was home after my 16 days of work (reading the AP exams) and play (seeing Mom and Dad, and celebrating Bev's 60th with the girls) and I thought I could just see if I could manage to get into this space and here I am! I read all of the updates and you really have been through the wringer. It's been some time since you last posted, so hopefully that means you are recovering bit by bit and maybe enjoying the World Cup...? Love to David. xoxoxo, Joanne
