July 13, 2013 Update

We don't have much of an update today other than the fact that Mason seems to continue to amaze us. He did great overnight. His blood pressure did drop which required him to recieve added fluids. This morning he looked a bit puffy because of the excess fluid, but still looked great! They actually talked about starting to take away his pain meds gradually and see how he does. Because he is still sedated and comfy we decided to spend some much needed time resting and spending time with big brother who really misses our attention! We plan on going and visiting this evening so I will update if need be.[...]

A lot can happen in 24 hours here.  We went up to see the cardiologist to find out that they has scheduled Mason for surgery that afternoon.  We kissed him off aroumd noon.  We got positive updates throughout the day and were pleased to hear that the surgery went well around 830-900.  We finally got to visit him around 10 and besides from all of the equipment, he looked amazing.  Since he had minimal swelling and bleeding they were able to seal his chest up last night.  We didn't hear anything overnight so he must have continued to do well.  Chris and I are going to check out of the hospital and then go see our baby boy![...]

6:00 am

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind words and prayers. Yesterday was not easy and with several scares I know Mason is a fighter! I also would like to think that we all helped get him through it with lots of love and prayer. I am up and ready to see him but will not get the all clear till I get more rest. Having only spent less than a minute with all that preciousness has got me craving more! I will give everyone an update on his health and further actions needed when they let me see him! Until then I have lots of pictures to get me through.[...]

After some nice drama at the hospital this morning my water was broke at noon and pitocin was started. Mason didn't take well to the pitocin and after a dip in his heartrate they had to shut the pitocin off for about 30 minutes. They are now starting to reintrocuce the pitocin slowly so that we can make some progress.[...]

Our non-stress test must have gone fine this morning since they sent me home. I am suppose to keep a kick count to make sure everything continues as planned. The next time we post, they will hopefully be pictures of the little one.[...]

July 3, 2013

We went to our final doctors appointment this morning before the induction date of July 10. We cannot believe we only have 7 more days at the most! Mason looked good through the ultrasound and everything is prepped and ready to go. Our appointment is set for 7:30 in the morning. We did get some new info. My amniotic fluid had dropped and is now in the low normal range and since Mason's weight has gone from the 75th+ percentile to the 24th we are scheduled for a fetal non-stress test on Monday morning to make sure he is still doing okay. I am currently dilated 1 cm which was somewhat disappointing since I was 1/2 a cm 3 weeks ago. Other than that we are simply waiting around for this beautiful bundle of joy to make his appearance. I will be sure to let y'all know if we get any more news on Monday or if by any chance he decides to make his grand entrance a bit earlier then expected.[...]

June 21, 2013

Our appointments today didn't really go as planned. After spending hours upon hours in the hospital we didn't come away with much. Mason is weighing in at about 6 pounds. Me being at 37 weeks, his head and femur measurements place him around 38.5 weeks. That being said, we were thinking we were going to be induced the first week of July, but with our doctor being out of town induction is scheduled for July 10. Since this is just three days before my due date I highly doubt we will last that long, but we will see![...]

Well today was our first appointment with Dr. Marx. He is the cardiologist at Boston Children's Hospital. He confirmed the diagnosis of Transposition of the Greater Arteries and also states that the whole in Mason's heart still looks fairly large. He did bring up that the 2 Vessel Cord may indicate a kidney issue, but we should know more after he is born.[...]

Well we made it to Boston and got all settled in.  It is beautiful here, but different than what we had expected so it is taking some getting used to.  Tomorrow is a pretty calm day, and then Monday we have our first Fetal Echo appointment at the hospital.  I will keep you all updated!  Night![...]

t has been more than a month since I have posted any updates and for that, I am sorry. A lot has happened in the last month. We are now going to weekly sono appointments to make sure Mason’s growth is on track and he is doing well. Last time we went he weighed 4 pounds 11 ounces and was doing great![...]
