July 25, 2014

The last 2 1/2 weeks have been very busy for Meghan with lots of doctors appointments to get her ready to start treatment again.  This involved fertility preservation, scans, blood tests, shots everyday at home, etc.  Tomorrow Meghan will undergo a procedure to harvest her eggs so that when she beats Hodgkins and grows up she can haver her own babies.

Chemo is scheduled to start on Monday.  Monday will be a busy day.  In the morning they will put in the Hickman line, which is similar to the Pic line she had previously but will be in her chest this time rather than her arm. They will need this type of line for the stem cell/bone marrow transplant. They will then admit her to the hospital and begin chemo that evening through Thursday.  Meghan will be in the hospital till Friday.

We met with the principal this morning at the High School to begin the process of setting up the home & hospital teaching so Meghan can stay current with her studies.

Meghan continually amazes us at how strong and brave she is and her positive attitude through all of this.  She had so much fun mixing her shots every night and the last two days even gave the shots to her self!!  She will make a great nurse or doctor one day with all her hands on expriences.

Please keep the prayers coming, they are working :)

Love to all,

Meghan's Mom :)

P.S. Will post some pictures next week.
