Endings & Beginnings |8-16-16|

I love that summer is coming to an end. I don't think I have ever ever ever said that before. I'm over it. I'm over the heat. I'm over the kids fighting because they're around each other too much. I'm O.V.E.R it. You know what I'm talking about, right? All of it. I'm ready for the fall- for all of the new beginnings that are coming our way.

Molly starts Kindergarten tomorrow and we are so excited for her. She is officially a Jefferson County North Charger, and she is really excited to have Mrs. Jobbins as her teacher. We are going to Back to School night tonight, and I could watch Molly all day as she skips around the house counting down the hours.

Lucy will start her last year of pre-school, and she is also looking forward to a new class of new friends. I hope her teacher has her serious face perfected, because she's in for some antics from this little class clown of ours. :)

Of course, the biggest change and beginning will be with Mike. He is finally starting to bounce back from the chemo from a week and a half ago. It's been a rough time. He just can't seem to get much energy, and it makes him cranky- so for that reason, I'm SUPER glad he's feeling better. Dr. Shune told us last week that he won't have to have another round of Chemo before transplant! YES!! He gets an extra week to continue to feel great before he goes into the hospital on Sunday, the 28th.

On the 28th he will get a heavy dose of chemo. Same on the 29th. The next 3 days will be radiation to his entire body, and then either the next day, or day after he will get his new stem cells. It depends on what time they are flown in, and processed by the KU lab. They said it is usually in the middle of the night when they come from overseas like his are.

Although I'm terrified of what these next few months will be like, I am BEYOND ready to move past this, and start our own new beginning. I have so much hope for us on the good days. I want to run away as fast as I can on the bad days... (but I don't). Caregiving is hard, guys. I'm not saying that what Mike's going through isn't incredibly hard, because I know that it is, but I can't personally speak for him. For me, it's hard dealing with the emotions and the moods, and the life that goes on around it, in spite of it. I keep thinking that maybe this is just preparing me for dealing with the girls when they are teenagers! :) Just in case, I'm going to start researching boarding schools.

If I don't post in the next couple of weeks, let's hope it's because we are finally getting to enjoy some time together as a family.

xo

Still praying for you and family. Yes! Caregiving is hard. No one really knows until you are the caregiver. Mike's brother Tommy made a delivery at our place just yesterday and I asked about you all and got an update then. Just know that you are not alone friends, family and Jesus are on your side. Tell Mike that Ron & Michelle are praying for him. He was such a good worker when he worked for us all those years ago. Will never forget his hearty laugh. Continue to keep us posted when you are able. Your strength is inspiring.
