Picking up steam!

Our construction project is moving forward! It is now a reality, rather than just a thought in my head. Our amazing contractor, Greg, from Out of the Woods Construction was here a few times this week. On one of his visits he was accompanied by his draftsman and by Suzanne Koller, a local Bedford Realtor. Suzanne is amazing–she has gigantic plans to help us! I am very excited to be working with her (more details to come.) Another visit of Greg’s was spent measuring grade and pitch from our front door down to our driveway. This is to create a safe exit and entrance for Rich with a ramp leading to the driveway. A ramp will ensure smooth transfers in and out of the house for trips to the backyard or garden, trips to the zoo and of course to our frequent doctors’ appointments.

Our fundraising efforts have been AMAZING! thanks to all of your generous donations and sharing of our GoFundMe. We have a variety of upcoming events, one of which will be a virtual concert with the amazing Danielle Miraglia and Tom Bianchi! Danielle is near and dear to my heart and has become a great friend of our. She has played a few private shows for us, including our wedding!

We plan to have raffles for this event as well. Bentwater Brewing and Night Shift Brewery have generously donated raffles as Rich used to frequent both of their breweries when riding along the Northern Strand Bike Path that travels from Lynn to Everett. We hope to get more raffle items donated and have contacted a variety of local places. Due to COVID-19, a lot of businesses are not in a place to give which we fully understand! Please share any thoughts/ ideas you may have for raffle items, or if you would like to donate one!

I also wanted to let you all know of an additional way of donating. We have opened a fund at Enterprise Bank in Billerica, with the help of Bopha Malone, Bedford Select Board Member. She has been another vital piece of our fundraising puzzle! You can now send a check to the One Day at a Time fund at Enterprise Bank, 674 Boston Road, Billerica, MA 01821. This is a great option if you don’t want us to incur fees from PostHope or GoFundMe, or are more comfortable with a paper check deposit.
