Concert Event and Raffles, plus a quick update!
Danielle Miraglia is hosting a Virtual Zoom Concert Benefit for us live this Friday!! Danielle is so special to us! She played at my graduation party, and years later at our wedding. We have loved supporting her over the years and are very grateful for this event.
On top of this event we have over $700 in raffle items available! Any donations that come through our GoFundMe from 11/6-11/8 at noon will be eligible for the raffles! Some raffle examples are pictured above. Others include scratch tickets, beer baskets, and a variety of gift cards! Every $5 you donate equals one ticket.
Thank you so much to all of the restaurants, friends and family that donated gift cards and other items for our raffle! I have A LOT more items, so another event will be up and coming!
A quick update! Things are rolling (in many ways). Rich has been using his wheel chair more and more while outside, and on rare occasions inside. Getting in an out of the house is becoming more challenging by the day so we definitely need our ramp out front. The glimpse of cold weather and snow brought in the reality of how challenging the next few months will be.
By Monday 11/9, our family of 4 will be temporarily downsizing from a 4 bedroom house, to a 1 bedroom apartment! We are moving into my parents in-law apartment next door, while they also get displaced temporarily to a friends house. The next week is for sure going to be a whirlwind, but we are rounding it out with this amazing concert, raffle event, and a craft night with Womenade on 11/7.
Below is the concert event information!

Danielle Miraglia comes armed with a strong steady thumb on an old Gibson and an infectious stomp-box rhythm with tunes ranging from heart-felt to socially conscious that will move both your heart and hips. Her latest “Bright Shining Stars” has gone to #15 on the Billboard Blues Charts. Released Oct 2020 with Vizztone Label Group, it's a solo acoustic folk/blues record that highlights the one-woman-band live sound she’s honed over the years, featuring guest appearances by talented friends Laurence Scudder, Peter Parcek and Richard "Rosy" Rosenblatt. It includes originals as well as a collection of songs she’s been covering at live shows over the years, paying homage to influences like Big Bill Broonzy, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin and more, plus the title track "Bright Shining Stars," written by her husband, Tom Bianchi. "In 20 years of recording, most of my album titles have had pessimistic connotations - "Nothing Romantic" "Box of Troubles" "All My Heroes Are Ghosts." In a time period where our collective title should be an exclamation point inside a triangle, I thought now is the time to go positive. So, "Bright Shining Stars" it is."
"Straddling the line where folk/roots meets rock/blues, Miraglia has a voice that can go from a raspy come-hither purr to an Etta James-esque powerhouse belt, although she may be best known for her lead thumb — a heavy, thumping strike on her Gibson that’s backdrop percussion in itself." - Lauren Daley, The Boston Globe"
You can stream the concert through Facebook live, or on youtube.
Can't wait to see you there! Or see your name for the raffles if you can’t make it to the concert!
P.S. I added a picture of our Halloween cuteness for your enjoyment! Under Rich’s direction and guidance I built that rocket ship about 20 minutes before we headed outside!
Taking life one day at a time,
Leah
