Thank you!
Thank you for all of the love and support on my most recent posts and for my birthday love! Rich and I got to escape for a night in Salem, MA at the Hawthorne Hotel. It was our first time away since August 2020 when M was just 1.5! She is quickly approaching 4 and I cannot believe how fast time flies.
Fast forward to the end of our February school vacation… all I can say is ooooooffff! I started with a cold the week before which turned into a full blown fever, chills, aches, pains, cough and major sinus pressure on the first day of said “vacation”. This snowballed into a trip to urgent care for antibiotics. Next up, A had a nearly 104 degree temp, complete with him being delirious and *hopefully temporarily* losing his hearing a bit from an ear infection and icing on the cake, a touch of pneumonia. Antibiotics for the two of us and we are on the mend! Hoping R and M don’t go downhill from here and we all just healthily coast our way into Spring!
Vacation involved canceling all of our plans and laying low for the majority of the week, a lot of TV and video games were played. I was definitely bummed out thinking about all the things we missed, all the hours cooped up in the house, all the hours of screen time. There is a lot of cleaning up to do, dishes and laundry were put on hold.
At this very moment, I feel ok about all of it. We all got to be together for the week and that is most important. The dishes will get washed, the clothes will eventually make it into drawers. I actually kind of feel like a badass after this week. I feel like I made it through a battle. I did my homework on time (only two weeks left of my first class)! I played with my kids, I even did some organization. I cooked, picked up take out, groceries, wiped all the butts, wiped all the noses. I took care of business and we made it! The alternate title of this was "Vacation week from hell", but I am feeling more positive this go round!
Rich and I launched a fun hobby Instagram together called @brickabled! There, we hope to share our love of Lego and how it brings us together as a family, as well as discussing barriers to accessibility and more!
The next few weeks I have a to do list that feels miles long, but all the tasks will get done. One check at a time… speaking of, I better go write those tasks down before I forget anything!
As always, one day at a time!
Leah
