A Note From Laura

From Laura: Hello, everyone. Thank you so much for your support and prayers! Ed and I appreciate so much the work of our children Heather, Matthew, and Harmony in taking over communication for us, sending the email from the family and setting up this site. I want you to know that I will be reading your words of encouragement, and from time to time, you may receive updates from either myself or my family regarding this journey.

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I am drawing strength and wisdom in my response from God's Word as written in the Bible. His promises are many and His faithfulness is everlasting! Ephesians 6:10 says "I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I will draw my strength from Him, that strength which His boundless might provides."

3 days ago, the Lord God woke me up and I received a miraculous gift. I received a very vivid and amazing vision from the Lord detailing 2 paths - 1 was a path of Fear, the other the path of Faith. I have chosen the path of Faith! Sometime soon, I will work on sharing the written account of this vision with you. Be encouraged! God's covering and power is so very great. He is faithful!

Now for a bit of explanation. The form of leukemia I am battling is caused by radiation therapy, which I received during treatment for stage 0 breast cancer in 2014. This is not a common occurrence. As stated in the family email, I am undergoing inpatient chemotherapy at OHSU - and this will be my home away from home for the next 4-6 weeks. (At this time, God has given me a room with a gorgeous and inspiring view of the city!) At that time, I hope to be home for 2 weeks, then return to OHSU for a stem cell transplant and many weeks of stay. We believe God is in control, and we are trusting in His peace, strength and faithfulness. We are declaring scripture from His Word regarding God's many, many promises to us! We feel it is so important to choose words that speak life and a positive confession when communicating with our friends, family, and even strangers, regarding this journey.

Know that you are loved and appreciated by me. If you are reading this, the paths of our lives have crossed at some point, an event I believe is orchestrated by God. For that, I am grateful.

May the Lord bless you abundantly in every aspect of your life! Know that I will be praying for all those who respond, and for all who have received information regarding this journey.

"And may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:7

Blessings and love, Laura

Hello my friend! Been thinking of you today as you undergo this rigorous treatment. Asking for God's grace, His divine mercy, and the ultimate healing of your body, that He so wants. There are many people praying for you...a lot that you don't even know. Yet they care, because all of us care so much. There just aren't words to tell you how much you are loved, prayed for, and thought of. I hope, in some small way, that the words and prayers everyone is offering up will touch you , comfort you, and even make you smile. They are intended to, I know. I read this recently (and hope it doesn't come across as trite. It's not intended to at all.) " Some storms can be prepared for, but most can't. In those particular storms, God is our tarp and faith is the tent stake that keeps the wind from blowing it away." Keep pounding those stakes in, Laura. God already put the tarp on! Love you, Pam
