T-3 (That's Today)
We are almost to Transplant Day! Laura has been checked in to OHSU for a week undergoing the pre-transplant chemotherapy. Everything has gone well, and she's felt pretty decent the entire way through. The transplant will take place on Valentine's Day, this coming Tuesday. I know many of you who receive the PostHope updates are not on Facebook, so over the next few days I'll be doing a lot of cross-posting between this site and the Facebook prayer group. The following is a copy of a Facebook post:

"T-3." <--- That's today.
The 10 days before transplant are spoken of like a rocket launch, with the "T" standing for Transplant rather than Take-off. :) Laura's chemo began on Day T-10, so she's almost done! Sunday will be T-2, Monday will be T-1, and Tuesday will be Day 0.
Day 0 is the transplant, and from there the numbers will always count back up - Day 1, Day 2, Day 3. We're looking to see those numbers extend into the thousands!
It has been a good week for my mom. She's had very few chemo side effects, and her health is strong. Today she got to step outside into the sunshine and see (but not touch!) her youngest grandbaby.
A very strong 2-day chemotherapy began today, given in addition to what she has already been doing all week. This is the last big hit, and it really is a very potent drug. Please continue to pray for her; pray over the potential side effects, that the drug will do its work (decimate her own bone marrow in order that new marrow can be built back up, eradicate any threat of hidden leukemic cells), and that the rest of her body remains strong and in perfect health. Please pray over her now-non-existent immune system, that she will continue to be well, and will not get sick!
This will be a big week and I will be updating you daily over the next several days. Tomorrow I hope to write a longish post explaining the transplant process.
Thank you for seeing this journey through with us until the end! Thank you for standing with us and asking God for complete health, complete recovery. Be glorified, Lord. Amen.

I continue to pray for her body to stay strong, the stem.cell.transplant to be successful and for her health and immune system to become.strong again. I know it's a time of hope but of trepidation as well. Walking into unknown territory but having faith that God is carrying her through it all. Keep fighting Laura. ..you are not alone!
