Surgery was a success!
Shannon is out of surgery, already awake and "very chatty," according to the anesthesiologist. :-) Jason and family will get to see her shortly.
The surgeon said he was aggressive in removing the tumor and that tomorrow's MRI will prove the tumor is gone!
Right now she has to focus on recovering from the surgery, but in a couple weeks she will need to start radiation and chemotherapy. The goal with radiation is to try to prevent the tumor from recurring.
Dr Sawaya and the entire team at MD Anderson have been incredibly awesome. Can't wait to see Shannon and give her a big hug!
