TGIF
Today was the last day of the week, which means the last proton therapy for the week. I resume on Monday. The highlights for next week include more blood work, a follow up with my oncology team, and my weekly follow up with the radiologist overseeing my proton therapy. I'm only a few weeks in and I'm already getting tired of the constant appointments, however, I vowed that I will wake up each morning willing to do whatever I need to do so I will show up each day with a smile.
I saw a sign in the proton therapy center for a youtube video and thought you guys might want to see what this proton therapy is all about. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_8_LBtkNzI. It's pretty astounding how I'm feeling given the stories I hear about traditional radiation. As far as diet, I did find a few more things I can eat today. We learned how to make an almond flour, cheesy pizza crust that I topped with meat and cheese. I also found a low carb, low sugar flavored yogurt. I'm learning how to make things tasty as well.
We had NCAA Final Four & championship tickets that we bought a while ago. Since no teams were in the tournament that we wanted to see and I figured we'd rather have the funds, I've been trying to sell them online. However, it appears that these teams do not have the demand that Kentucky and/or Duke have, so the prices have bottomed out. Jason feels like he has some connection to Syracuse since he was born there, so I figure we'll probably just go to the games tomorrow and Sunday rather than take the loss. It will definitely be something to get us out and about and everyone knows how we love basketball!

#goTeam Cheer for the teams with fewest fans present? Wear your UK gear & act confused? #livelovelife
I went to Villanova undergrad. Also they are Wildcats and their colors are blue and white. The only NCAA championship title they've ever one was in 1985 in Rupp Arena! We looked into coming down there to visit and go to the game but the airfare was too crazy. Still so proud of you and your strength!! Keep hangin tough sista! You got this!
Thanks for sharing the video. One day at a time!
Hi Shannon Interesting video. Hope the basketball is fun. We will visit your four legged guys with treats!
Go enjoy basketball --pick a team and cheer like hell for it! That always makes me feel better!! I'm partial to orange & blue you know, so Syracuse works for me too! Love y'all!!
Them's fighting words, missy! Go to that game and root for OU! It's funny, but 29 years ago, the same teams were playing. That's when I met and started dating Joe! Loved basketball ever since!
When the day comes, please have Jason video your banging of the ceremonial gong.
And your mother-in-law went to grad school in Syracuse!! Granted not a premium team but it might be fun!!! Have anything orange to wear???
