This Week in Houston...

As is our new normal, I was at MDA for blood draw and labs this morning. I discovered that if I'm careful about portions, I can have cheerios for breakfast once in a while with flax milk. That was actually a great discovery. I prefer Honey Nut, but original will do just fine.

By 10:30 we were at the proton center and before 11 we were done there. Jason and I went out for a quick lunch at a Paleo friendly Mediterranean restaurant. I'm guessing there won't be many of those in Lubbock, it will be up to me to figure out what I can and cannot have. So goes life. By the time we got home I was finding myself exhausted and thought I would lay down for a bit hoping that we could do something in the afternoon to get my energy up. This did not happen. Jason found himself ill (we do not know if he has food poisoning or the flu) and did not feel like doing much, so I stayed home. He did manage to take the kids out to the gym and I got a few email issues taken care of for work.

I'm looking forward to an early bedtime tonight. Hoping for less gloomy weather here, as I feel like that is contributing to all of our melancholy- the kids are also saying they are low energy. What we need is for the healthy adult to get a bit more energy together and get everyone moving!

Houston is the Capitol of humidity! Such a cool town but such fowl weather. Don't worry you will acclimate to that, but watch out with the food! So sorry about Jason. Hope he feels better. Not a moment goes by I'm not thinking of ya'll!

Sleep and rest well, all of you; it sounds like you need to allow your bodies to heal... Jason: you are Superman, but the universe is gently (or maybe not so gently) reminding you to rest your mind, body and soul, too. The stress you all have been enduring must be overwhelming at times.... But together your family has everything it needs to prevail ---you each only need to remember, though, to take care of YOU along the journey. Extra prayers tonight for rest, sunshine, restored strength, and future Honey Nuts.
