An End to Another Successful Week
It's Friday again and this week again flew by. Everyday this week my proton treatments were at 7 AM and were usually followed by either other checkups, blood draw, or yoga. Sometimes two of the three. When we first got here before and after surgery, we'd sometimes have days that began at 8 AM and would run as late as 9:30 PM. Gradually the days got shorter and now we are usually home by noon. Some days I have to remind myself that I've vowed to do whatever I need to do each day to keep this tumor down and stay healthy. Other days are much easier to focus on whatever comes next. As I get closer to May 4, I have more of the latter.
I hadn't broken any rules at MDA since my hospital stay and we never got the opportunity to have strippers so I'm finding new and exciting ways to get myself in trouble. Multiple times I've put warm socks on and then walk back to my room with no shoes. Apparently this is a rule violation because the anesthesia carts may drop needles in the hallway. And then yesterday I got there a few minutes late and this is an issue because apparently they have other patients and have to stay on schedule. These people are so uptight. You'd think they had a business to run or something! Obviously proton is in need of strippers or clowns or stripper clowns to get the staff to loosen up.
I noticed this morning that I'm starting to lose more hair. It's coming out almost in clumps. It still looks fine but I can tell that it's thinning. I'm in no way concerned about this but it's a question that people always ask so I thought I'd give the update. The radiologist told me to not cut it or do anything to it at all because they are measuring the hair loss for the side effects study. So regardless of how badly my friends want to shave my head, the doctor's orders are that they cannot.
Yoga is continuing to go well and is most useful on days I feel the least motivated. The nurse from hell finally got us the release forms for the gym and I have my first appointment with the trainer today. My food choices and options are becoming much easier so hopefully by the time I leave Houston, my peripheral physical condition will be awesome. I'm going to be such a bald hottie!

A bald hottie -- I LOVE it!
One more week down!!
Yes you are!👍😜
Remind me to tell you a stripper story when you get back. (The neighborhood around the Med Ctr has improved.) looking forward to seeing you soon, even if Bly for a couple of days before we leave.
Please keep your hair that falls out. We can use it to craft a voodoo doll on my next trip to TX. I will be on the search for stripper clowns. Or we could loan Randy and or Jason my clown costume from last Halloween.....
I love reading these updates and your humor! I crap up laughing! If only everyone could have your sense of humor! Barbara
What do you mean you were late to your appointment! I need to speak to your Uber driver.
Bald hotties are all the rage--just ask Captain Jean Luc Piccard. It is just that you will be a lot funnier than he is.
