Things I'm Missing
There are so many things that are missing from my life. Some I lament, and to some I say "Good Riddance!" So let's go through the things that are missing, shall we?
1. Crystal. What a total pain in my head. I hope she stays gone forever. Good riddance.
2. Pizza. Oh, how i miss pizza. Carbs in general I'm not really too worried about but lately I've been thinking about my old friend. This week I took Aidan for a haircut and we got there a bit early so we stopped by One Guy's and he got a small pizza. It was torture to sit there, then have the leftovers in the car, and then to later package it up and put it in the fridge. Torture, I say! Pure torture!
3. Working bowels. As you might know, this week is chemo week. Last week I moved forward with my plan to start softeners early and gradually increase them. "Operation: excrement elimination while on chemo" has been a great success. However, gone are the days when I could take basic bodily functions for granted.
4. My upper left visual field. The photos I've included in this post are of my visual field. They are out of order (sorry) so that the left eye is on the right and the right eye is on the left. The center, where the lines should but do not cross is the focal point. The dots (crosses and bold squares) are targets that I either saw or did not see in my peripheral vision. If you will notice, in both eyes the upper left peripheral visual field had quite a few targets that I missed (the bold squares are misses). This does not mean that I missed them once. I missed each of these five times on average. This is final confirmation that as Dr. Sawaya (the surgeon who removed my tumor) told us, I have lost my vision in the upper left quadrant of both eyes. Although I'm technically "missing" this, as I am blind in that area, I haven't actually missed it at all. I must not need it. We've come up with some situations where I might miss it: duck hunting, sports where a ball might be thrown at my head from above on the left, bird droppings only on my left side, UFOs swooping in on my left from above. On second thought, maybe I don't need it at all. I'll let you guys come up with some other situations where this might be an issue.

You make me smile -- love you for that!
Good thing your office is oriented the way it is so visitors are on your right side. Pizza would be hard, but just one day at a time.
