May 25, 2016. Update

So long story short, they say Cole "is a mystery." They cannot figure out what's going on.

They are meeting with specialists this afternoon to explore 3 main areas:  infection, autoimmune diseases/rheumatology, and cancer.  

He doesn't present for any one thing so they are trying to figure things out and consulting to make a plan.  They are continuing to search for clues and have tests because they just cannot figure him out.

He'll most likely need surgery again - he has additional abscesses in his abdomen area so they're in different parts.  Doing an echo this afternoon to explore any possible heart issues/bacteria.

So we just wait for the meeting of the minds to make a plan for next steps.  He will likely be here at least another week, probably longer.
