September 2, 2016 🔹 Rock Chalk!

Words can't express how grateful and appreciative we are for all of the support we've received. And I was so honored, and almost speechless (yes, we know that never happens), when I learned that my KU Football family decided to dedicate our first game to Cole.

The entire team, coaches and staff will be wearing their #TeamCole gold wristbands for the first home game in support of Cole and childhood cancer awareness.  September is childhood cancer awareness month so the timing is so perfect.  I can't even explain how much this all warms my heart.

Our hope is that Cole will be able to attend the game. He'll be on the sidelines with me prior to the game, then we'll be able to watch the game from the head coach's office who so graciously offered his space so that we don't have to take Cole in the stands (which I would NOT do anyway) so as to protect him from additional germs, etc. He struggles with walking due to the bone pain and his body is just weak.  Cole was excited to be able to do all of this, so we hope he'll be able to make it.

As many have seen, I was also asked to do interviews to share Cole's story and help increase the awareness.  WDAF Fox 4 aired a short bit Thursday evening which was great coverage and Lawrence Channel 6 covered it as well.

The Topeka Capital-Journal wrote an awesome story Thursday which was so heart-warming to read: (http://cjonline.com/sports/hawkzone/2016-09-01/other-children-ku-football-team-help-team-mom-cope-sons-cancer-diagnosis).

And the Lawrence Journal World/KU Sports wrote a story Friday: http://m.kusports.com/news/2016/sep/02/jayhawks-show-support-young-fan-battling-cancer/

I hope that no matter what fan you are, that you will ALL support the Kansas Jayhawks as they take on Rhode Island in honor of our Cole.  The entire football program, and athletic department, have been MORE than incredible in support of our family.  They have been so amazing to me with work and I am beyond grateful.

So...let's hear it everyone... Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Go KU!  馃敶馃數馃張

Awesome, so excited Cole is going to game tonight, but excitiment exuding that he is being honered as he should. What a strong courageous Cole. I was literally crying reading Shanda's interview with Topeka Journal World. Those feelings that grip in your throat, that you can't hardly express to others so hurtful, so tender, so overwelming, where do you go with them. Gloria
