Pleased With The +24

Greetings Family and Friends!

Chad started his 4th infusion today and will complete his second cycle of chemotherapy Thursday morning. It was a pretty smooth visit to the clinic this morning, we got to skip the lab and doctor and head straight to infusion at 7:00 am which was great. There was a little issue with one side of his port not returning, with no luck after a few flushes. It appears to be a normal issue and since one side was working well it was decided to leave it alone and we will go back Thursday for disconnect and they will check it again to decide if they need to treat it. Chad's weight held pretty steady, he was down a few pounds but nothing alarming, in fact, I think we're figuring some things out in that department. 

Chad made sure to enjoy the extra day of recovery thanks to the Memorial Day holiday. I've mentioned before that it takes Chad around 4-5 days after disconnect to start to feel well again, so as you can imagine, the fly in the ointment with his schedule is that as soon as he starts to feel his best, he has to begin the next treatment and start the process all over again. We both agree that this extra day before his infusion was a blessing! We went out to dinner a few times and Chad had a steak for the first time in over 6 months! We also enjoyed grilling and listening to music on our patio as well as laughing so hard a couple of times that we found ourselves doubled over and out of breath. Cami was promoted from 8th Grade to high school and all 3 of us were happy that Chad felt well enough to be there for the ceremony. 

This is truly one one of those situations where I feel like no news is good news. Chad has had a really nice week and I don't have much to report. We are heading to the beach after Chad gets his scans this weekend and will get the results when we get back in town. Please keep him in your prayers. We are really hoping for no further progression of cancer.
