It's a Marathon, Not a Sprint

Hello! Hello! Hello!

It's been awhile since we checked in with everyone and I want you all to know that things are going well, we have one of those 'no news is good news' situations. Our summer is off to a nice start and we've been enjoying time with family and friends.

Chad completed the first cycle of his second round of chemotherapy last week. This infusion was a little bit rougher on him as far as nausea and fatigue than the previous one but he started to feel better by the weekend. He felt well enough to go to one of his favorite events, Comfest, and take the boat out two weekends in a row. Chad won't have another infusion until July 11th after he meets his new oncologist. We are both very thankful that he will have 3 extra days to recuperate and are hoping to make the best of the time.

When this journey began I was given a quote that said, "You can run a sprint or you can run a marathon but you can't sprint a marathon."  I've never trained for a marathon. Since we're being honest, I've never trained for a sprint either but I got the gist. This is our life now and we can only control so much and then we have to pray that the rest will fall into place. Slow and steady wins the race. We've tried to make sure that Chad has a good balance and doesn't burn himself out on any front. Chad is able to work a few days a week and is enjoying lots of time with family and friends, He looks fantastic and has stretches of 3-4 days in a row that he feels pretty good. He's doing so well at times that he becomes almost apologetic about it. Of course, Chad Price would feel bad about not feeling bad, the depth of his character is admirable. I know that it's hard for him to not go to work everyday, especially if he ends up feeling pretty good on a scheduled day off, but he's finding a pace that seems to agree with him and I hope that he can stick with it.

Thanks again to all of you for the victory cheers after the results for Chad's scans! We really felt your enthusiasm and were so excited to share some bright news. We all needed that boost of positive news! Please continue to pray and send good vibes, we love you!

You guys both look amazing! So glad for the good guys you have. I know for certain that even the bad days are faced head on with the Chad Price smile and charm. You never cease to amaze me Chad! Still praying that the bad days are erased by all good ones!
