Honestly, I haven’t wanted to do an update not because Walker isn’t doing better, he is, but out of sheer exhaustion. Nothing can prepare parents for this kind of duty. Taking comfort in speaking with others that have breathed the rarified air that comes with care giving through extreme illness.
He stood 3 times yesterday! And had RT as well. He is really doing good, getting a little better everyday. He has a great nursing staff that have very much fallen for our handsome Walker. I have noticed that all the cutest nurses have been rotating through his room :-). He now has a nurse whose job is to set a schedule for rehab for a patient to get them out of here! That’s what I’m talking about!
Our current specific prayer request is that his lungs heal. There are coming along very slowly. But our main goal for him would be the blessing of healed lungs or even a healed lung (right side) that would be awesome!! As I know a great guy, Heissem Jebailey, that is a healthy happy 41 yr old that recently ran a triathlon with one lung. How cool is that?

And I don't blame the nurses - who wouldn't love out handsome - fun - precious Walker - as we each are - he is unique unto himself - joy just being around him - We will KEEP THE FAITH - WE WILL continue to lean on Jesus - we know this is a long journey - and as just his Mama and Papa I know what we are living through and the deep, deep Faith that is required of us - so I cannot imagine - what it is for his mama and daddy sitting by his bedside almost round the clock - how deep the Faith is required of you - God has Walker in his palm - when we get through the fires of the furnace - WALKER WILL WALK OUT - BETTER THAN NEW! I will believe and cling to this as long as I have breath!
Even though I have never met Walker being a long time family friend I feel for you all keeping Walker and all of you in my prayers. It truly helps knowing the specifics to pray for. I am sure these updates are the last things you feel like doing. Praying formEalker and strength for you to get through this tough time.
