Day 40 ECMO
Good news and tough news. The Good news is that he has steadily improved over last 7 days with vitals remaining strong. His strength is improving a little each day which is great. He is clear headed and now fully aware of his situation. He has needed very little anti anxiety meds through the day which is great. His hands are much more calm today much less shaking. So, overall improvements in the right direction.
The tough news from this week is the time factor. He has reached the 40 day mark of ECMO care and not walking yet which is a standard they have used over the years to evaluate a patients performance. While the doctors are pleased with his improvements they are seriously concerned that his healing is moving slower than they had hoped. His lungs are a little better but still very sick. Thus, we are proceeding with a transplant evaluation as a safety net if needed.
So, we are all pushing hard to get him up and moving as this is his best chance for recovery. The longer he stays on ECMO (past 40 days) the more challenging his recovery becomes. His personal hurricane called the AdenoVirus really beat up his body. This is hardcore tough stuff to say the least. The 40 day news from the docs this week was certainly a gut punch to his parents.
We are all praying for continued healing to improve his condition, Fighting along side Walker with everything thing we have to give. Pray for his strength to continue this fight. Dad.

I pray, in the name of Jesus, that strength and healing powers will rise up in Walker’s body...That the power and glory of God will shine upon him, bring forth a beautiful miracle for all to see.....As we all stand together, petitioning for this miracle, we expect you to move Lord!! We are expecting great things!! We stand strong on your words Lord!! It is your will that we be healthy and strong!! So we expect and accept nothing but that Lord❤️❤️❤️
I played catch up from travels. I just read the journal entries. Like so many others I kneel before our King and do as He told us what to do. I pray for Your kingdom to come. Your kingdom radiates power, grace, mercy, and love. Disease in Your Kingdom does not exist. Weakness is not present in Your Kingdom, only strength. You, our King, are sovereign over all things. I ask that the good in Your Kingdom, Lord, would be extended to heal and restore Walker's body fully and that You will refresh Walker and the family as they endure this journey. Glorify Yourself. Show off Your kindness. Your will be done, our King. In the name, giving us access to You to ask for these things, Jesus.

Gods timeframe is not the same as mans! Jesus himself spent 40 days in the dessert --We will keep the FAITH - and wait for the miracle to come ---
Heavenly Father, creator of all in this vast Universe. I pray EVEN NOW you find favor with Walker and heal him. Heal every cell that you created, block the bad cells and only allow the healthy ones. Allow Walkers body to quickly rejuvenate and heal at a faster pace. You know Walker even while he was being formed in his mother's womb. Lord, I beg you to breath newness of life over Walker that only you the divine healer can do. I pray for Dave, Candy, and Walker's entire family to find refuge in You oh Lord.
