8-19 Miracle Man
Early last week, we had an appointment with Dr. Botta, Walkers primary surgeon who performed his ECMO surgery. Doc said that Walker was officially released from his care and he called him “The Miracle Man”. It’s one thing to hear this from family or friends but when your surgeon says it it carries a certain weight, as in heavy. He also said that he believes that Walkers youthful stem cells will continue to mend his body and that in his opinion Walker will end up keeping both lungs. Time will tell, but are praying for Doc Botta’s opinion. 馃憤
Sometimes God causes severe winds of trial to blow upon His children to develop their gifts. Just as a torch burns more brightly when waved back and forth, and just as a juniper plant smells sweetest when thrown into the flames, so the richest qualities of a Christian often arise under the strong winds of suffering and adversity. Bruised hearts often emit the fragrance that God loves to smell - Streams in the Desert
We went for our first getaway since this affair began in early March last weekend staying at a relatives in NSB. It started well but turned out it was too soon to venture away from the safety of routine. Walker and Candy sadly returned home and Laura & I stayed through the weekend. Not a big deal just inconvenient and disappointing. The intense summer humidity beachside proved to be too much for now. In time all will be returned to Walker that was lost.
Through these winds of trial, all of us have experienced deepened enriched qualities of character which lay hidden inside. Candy has found a deep sense of knowledge of God’s Love and patience to watch and wait for God to reveal himself. Laura found herself led these last 5 months to develop richer deeper relationships with her friends that have sustained her beautifully through this trial. I have found a latent talent for writing, sharing this story blow by blow which greatly helped me in processing the stark journey through a Grace not known before.
For sweet Walker, like an onion, the layers are just beginning to peel. He has a lifetime of discoveries ahead with the greatest being his visceral knowing how much God loves him. Through his gradual recovery, I believe he will learn many new things about the changes in his being. Most things he has discovered so far have been topical like the changes in his taste and appetite. He hardly recognizes his new taste, not even chick-fila has made the cut except for their new Mac-n-cheese gets two thumbs up!!
His Grace Abides. Amen.

What a journey......please God continue to bless Walker and his family.
Love this! Continuing to pray
That is fantastic for the comment by Dr. Botta- The Miracle Man! I believe he is to, and God has a huge plan for his life. Glad he is starting to get his appetite back and enjoying the new "Mac n Cheese". I am sure that this whole experience has changed everyone in the family. Glad that everything turned out well. I will still pray for him also. Thanks David for the update.
Well said Dave. What an incredible journey this has been and what an amazing testimony to share. We will continue to pray.
Thank you Ryan
Wonderful news when a surgeon gives that message of hope! Praying for you daily that your patient endurance will continue as healing takes place. God is good!
