“Therapy Dream”
Ava’s continuing to make great progress at Children’s. This week an occupational therapist working with her in the pool commented that she’s a “therapy dream” because she is so motivated to learn and tolerant of trying new moves and positions to make her stronger.
Over the past week we saw Ava reaching and kicking more in the pool, her core is getting stronger and she can now hold her head up unsupported for longer than ever before! She practiced exploring her surroundings in a GoBabyGo car and we were invited to attend a workshop in April where Ava can receive a custom GoBabyGo car of her own! Check out GoBabyGo http://sites.udel.edu/gobabygo/ it
is a great nonprofit research program.
Ava is only using ventilator support overnight and is off from 12-14 hours during the day. We are still working on bottle feeds but added in puréed foods this week.
Ava is continuing to woo the staff with her happy chatter, big smile and peaceful temperament. Thanks again for all the encouragement!

She is most definitely a “therapy dream!” I’m so happy she is doing so well! I miss her little face and chatter! She’s amazing and she definitely stole my heart at Morristown! Can’t wait to see you again! ❤️ Love your favorite Respiratory Therapist, Julie (your bff) xoxo
Ava and her therapy dog make me so happy! They look like best buds. We also need to discuss her robe with the octopus on it! How cute is that? I love that she is more mobile and that gobaby car will be a game changer! I am so, so happy that she is off the ventilator for most of the day. That is such fantastic progress! Sending you all the positive vibes!
