Laura’s 9pm Thursday update

It’s been a sweet day, starting with the sun shining on Liza resting beside her boyfriend providing reassurance that all is as Liza would have wanted. Soon after, a sea turtle visited the end of the dock, reminding me of frequent wildlife visits following Edie’s passing. 
We met with our lovely hospice nurse and social worker who will be available to us if/when Liza’s care becomes difficult. Fortunately that was not today. Instead a chair was delivered so that Liza could sit outside amongst friends and family. We watched boats move up and down the marsh, played board games, told Liza stories, and painted nails… yellow is in among Liza’s-Lovers!
This evening we tucked Liza in her bed nearby and had dinner.  I listened as Liza’s friends shared intimate appreciation for one other. Now we prepare for TV night, featuring one of Liza’s favorite series: The Hunger Games.
So to Liza who always ignited those closest to her to live life to its fullest … “We salute your courage and your sacrifice”
