Laura’s 9:30 Tuesday update
It’s been 15 years since Edie left us on a beautiful spring morning in Asheville.
Today was equally lovely on the inlet but, aside from a morning walk with my sister, I spent the day inside. Thanks to the efforts of many friends, we may finally be close to securing a date and venue for Liza’s celebration of life.
Yesterday was also full, however we were able to take full advantage of our surroundings. I tried out a hydro-foil on the inlet (for maybe 5 minutes bc my legs were exhausted after 3) and we sat for an interview with the local news station. As a result Jack lead the news hours at both 10 and 11. In Athens, the Kappa Deltas held a remembrance that filled the sidewalk on Milledge Ave. While that was underway, a pod of manatees surprised those of us sitting on the dock.
This evening, as UGA lit candles and rang the bell on North campus for the many students and staff who lost their lives this year, a friend from AVL arrived and delivered us a shawl knitted with the ultimate love by Liza and Jack’s K-2 elementary school teacher. Then we filled our bellies with awesome filets prepared on the grill. Liza was undoubtedly giving the meal two thumbs up from above.
Tonight please pray that the perfect venue to celebrate Liza in her hometown will promptly reveal itself! 💛🥂💗🙏
