Goodbye Porlock, Hello Poland.....
And Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Scotland, and Iceland. We're just days from the end of our 9-week mega adventure. We've been too busy biking, hiking, and visiting museums and friends to post anything! We explored 10 World Heritage sites, saw almost enough castles, tracked the last wild bison in Europe, and went on a beaver/moose safari. We had an authentic wood fired Finnish sauna complete with birch branches and a naked plunge into the Baltic. We marveled at the Vasa, kayaked in the Swedish Archipelago, canoed on Lock Oich and sailed a tall ship around the Inner Hebrides. We biked 450 miles across the better part of 4 countries, and hiked 40 miles on the amazing Laugavegur trail amidst the bubbling volcanic mud and glaciers of Iceland. Wow!
Right now we are hanging out and resting at the Silica Hotel at the Blue Lagoon before flying home September 1st. First thing on the agenda when we get home: blood work (please hold good thoughts). I will post my results as soon as I have them.
This summer has been GREAT for me -- there are many days when I don't think about Porlock at all! I have crammed my brain with so many new memories. I am grateful and hopeful. Thank you to everyone who helped make this summer a success and to all the friends we meet along the way.
Bruce has been posting a bit to Facebook over the summer; if you're keen on more pictures check out Facebook.com/Bruce.Kendall I promise to post more pictures to the blog as albums.
Hugs to all, MK.

In awe of your trip! Have followed on FB. Hugs back to you!
Wow! What an incredible trip!
Your adventures make us all feel like couch potatoes. What have I actually done during the past 9 weeks? I must have done something. Your planning was brilliant and what stunning images you've seen. I've loved seeing Bruce's posts and following you both around Europe but I think it'll be a relief to be home to recuperate and think. No doubt to plan your next adventure! Love from us all.
Love seeing your smiles! Wonderful to have these special summer memories to take up all the space in your brain. Happy thoughts only!
