Caleb's Caped Crusaders

From Mike and Colleen:

It has been a little while since we have posted anything. Caleb overall has done absolutely great with all of his treatments and we have made it to Maintenance!!! This phase is just a 3 month cycle of IV and oral chemo, with a few other goodies sprinkled in, that repeats itself for the next 3 years. While this feels really daunting, it also is a huge milestone to get this far in his treatment, so we are really proud of our little warrior![...]

Caleb Update

First, the very good news: Caleb is officially in "remission", which doesn't mean he's cured, but it does mean that his cancer levels are low enough that he can move into the next phase, a 3-year course of chemo, without being put into the high risk or very high risk categories.  So it's a very long road, but this is the best possible outcome for the where he is in the treatment plan. [...]

In Search of a New Home For Mike and Colleen's Cats!

From Mike and Colleen:

Hi friends. We need your help. Ever since Caleb’s leukemia diagnosis we have had to do a lot of reevaluating of certain aspects of our life to help Caleb and our family adjust to our new normal. After a lot of thought, we have decided that having two cats in the house just isn’t the best thing for Caleb right now for many reasons. This is where you come in. We are looking for loving homes for our two cats. Ideally together, but if they were to be separated under the right circumstances, that would be ok as well.[...]

Another Way to Help: Amazon, Target, Starbucks gift cards

Hello everyone,

As Mike, Colleen and Caleb are settling in, they're finding that they need more things for their room and for Caleb. They said Amazon and Target would be really helpful and Starbucks so that we can keep the little big man stocked with cake pops (but seriously, they're one of the only things he feels like eating right now). I'm putting it on the calendar so that they don't get too many of any specific kind.  Thank you all so much! We are all so grateful for your love and support![...]

A way to help!

Hello everyone,

We thought it might be helpful for Mike and Colleen to have access to food delivery services while they're in the hospital. We want to try and get a meal covered for each day they are there. If you click on the calendar tab in the top right corner of your screen (or click here caring-for-caleb calendar), you'll see on the calendar that anything in green is a day that we will still need a gift card for.  I didn't want them to get more than they could use.  Please post any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer ASAP.[...]
