Courage

We learned today that mom’s cancer continues to grow.  She will have a biopsy on Tuesday, and make plans with her oncologist for a new course of treatment.  There is a clinical trial at Wilmot that is a possibility. She had a procedure to remove fluid from her lungs and it has already made her more comfortable. She is anxious to get outside and plant annuals and vegetables this weekend!  Her gardens bring her so much joy!

Having courage does not mean we are unafraid.  Having courage means we face our fears.  We are able to say, "I have fallen but I will get up." -Maya Angelou

I am sharing an overnight with my sister tonight ! As my granddaughter Kennedy would say " you are so lucky Grammie to have an overnight with aunt Cris!" Her courage is unbelievable ! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful baby sister! She has been a wonderful support to me and I only hope I can give her the support and love she needs to fight this battle ! Sisters forever! Love you!

Cris and family, The Billone Family and ours have a surprise for you. We have secured a black rod iron bench for you with which our two families are working collaboratively to get you plants and shrubs to be planted in honor of your courage and strength and the love you have for gardening. This bench will soon find it's proper home on the VEC campus in your honor, since you mean so much to both our families and to so many others. We are working with the school to secure all necessary paper work to make this Hope Garden come to fruition by Fall. We love you, we are praying for you but we wish to know what YOUR favorite plants, shrubs and flowers are. We were thinking hydrangeas, peonies and butterfly shrubs since all of which are low maintenance and butterflies will come and flutter to your Hope Garden. We wish you the greatest strength as you continue to fight with that "Cris Courage" and beauty you have spread throughout the Victor community. Your daughter has so generously been working with Paola Billone and I to get this project underway as soon as we can. But for now, fight, love, and stay brave you beautiful soul. We wish to have you and your family present once the garden can be placed by the VEC maintenance department, in the mean time please let me know your favorite flowers/shrubs you would enjoy seeing planted around the bench for others and yourself to enjoy. With love, gratitude and faith, Jessica Thisse, The Billone's and Family
