1 year later...

I've been considering posting here for quite some time but couldn't find the right words. After updating the Cris Condidorio Memorial Fund's website today with beautiful pictures, I thought some of you would want to see the difference that we have made in Mom's name. We have been able to donate books to hospitals, children, schools, and libraries. We have renovated an entire nook in my Mom's name. We have donated items for play and reading in several libraries. We have touched many children's lives and all because of a truly special human who I am blessed to call my Mom. If you would like to follow the donations that have been made, please visit . [...]

Memorial Fund

It's been over a month since the loss of my mom. It seems like a life time, but at the same time it feels like just yesterday I was wrapped in her embrace. Not a second goes by when I'm not thinking of her and how much her love for me will forever impact my life. We continue to move forward with our lives despite the constant sorrow that fills our hearts without her. We set up the memorial fund in Mom's honor and are in the process of getting some donations in line to spread her love of reading to others. This website was created and we will continue to update it with new donors and as we progress. Please check back to this website to see pictures and information. We continue to appreciate the support you've provided to our family and I hope that like us, you think of Mom when you see a hummingbird, a beautiful flower, in a kind act, or a bright and cheery smile.[...]

It's been over a week since mom has been gone. It's been extremely hard coping with the loss of the rock of our family. Staying busy is helping all of us get through. We want to thank all of you for your endless support of the past few weeks. The funeral mass was beautiful and I think it was just as mom would have wanted it. The music was beautiful thanks to Maury Fountain (my elementary music teacher). Mom's Godchildren and other special family members helped us with readings, pall bearers, and the gifts. We know that she wouldn't have had it any other way. As hard as it was for Zac, Chad and I to stand up and read her eulogy, we couldn't imagine anyone else trying to do it. We knew right away that it would be our job to try to encompass what a wonderful, caring, kind, loving human being she was in a short ten minutes. We each wrote from the heart and tried to explain the absolute blessing it was having her as our mother.[...]

Forever in our hearts

We are so very heartbroken today. Mom left us this morning to be with Grandma Julie and our sweet Bailey in heaven. She fought a long and hard 22 month battle against cancer and we are all so proud of her. She became an inspiration of hope and strength for so many. These past few weeks have been tough as she continued to fight and fight and fight just as she said she always would. We spent this time as a family holding her hand and telling her how much she was loved. We want all of you to know how thankful we are for the support that you have provided to our family. The meals, cards, kind words, and videos that we received will be something that we never forget. In honor of my beautiful mother, please do something kind for someone else today and every day to make this world a happier place. Give a hug to your loved ones and cherish each moment with them just as we tried to do with Mom. I will try to post the link for the funeral services when they become available.[...]

All we need is hope

I haven’t updated in several months but a lot has happened in that time. I’ll start back from my last update. Mom still has the tubes that help to drain and relieve pressure on her ureters and her kidneys. They weren’t sure what was causing the issues until they finally performed a biopsy on her bladder. Unfortunately, it was cancer. They decided to up her dosage of the targeted chemotherapy drug that she takes in pill form each day from one pill to two to see if this would help to fight the cancer that has spread. The drug was doing such a great job on the cancer in her lungs and the other places that they hoped because she had responded well to it, that this might be the best option.[...]

April Update

Hola! We had a wonderful trip to the Dominican Republic last week. We enjoyed the sunshine, togetherness, and lots of laughter. I always say that it takes a special kind of person to go on vacation with our family and survive. Ben, Melly, and Dan, congratulations, you did it! I’ve posted some pictures from our trip and there are lots more on Facebook![...]

Expecting a miracle

I hope that you all enjoy the holiday season with your families. I’m sure you will treasure every moment with your loved ones just as we will. I know that I have not been great about updating you and I will try to be better in the New Year. Mom finished six rounds of chemotherapy this Fall and has begun a new form of targeted chemotherapy. We are so thankful for this miracle drug that was FDA approved 4 days before mom really needed it. It has helped her to feel close to normal again which we are all so grateful for. Speaking of miracles, I need to mention my Dad. He works tirelessly to be Mom’s biggest advocate and has helped her to receive the best treatment there is. I admire his strength each and every day. I love you Dad even though I don’t tell you half as much as I should. I also need to mention my “other mom and dad” Beth and Randy for being an unbelievable support system for us. On days when I need comfort the most, I call or visit Beth and Randy. They have such an amazing way of calming me down and helping me to accept the worst parts of this disease while also staying positive for Mom. Thank you doesn’t even touch how grateful I am for both of you.[...]

Relay for Life

As many of you might have seen, our family participated in a Relay for Life walk in Le Roy. We had 70 people show up to support our team throughout the night. We raised over $6,000 dollars and some of us even lasted all 12 hours! It was an inspirational event that I will never forget and am honored to have been a part of. Thank you to our donors, our team members, and to all of our supporters. Our participation in this event will help fund cancer research and give support to others who are fighting alongside of Mom. Your support and kindness help give us HOPE each and everyday when it is much needed. I put together a video collage of pictures and videos from the Relay. You can find it online at this link. Sit back and enjoy (It is 16 minutes long)![...]
