All we need is hope
I haven’t updated in several months but a lot has happened in that time. I’ll start back from my last update. Mom still has the tubes that help to drain and relieve pressure on her ureters and her kidneys. They weren’t sure what was causing the issues until they finally performed a biopsy on her bladder. Unfortunately, it was cancer. They decided to up her dosage of the targeted chemotherapy drug that she takes in pill form each day from one pill to two to see if this would help to fight the cancer that has spread. The drug was doing such a great job on the cancer in her lungs and the other places that they hoped because she had responded well to it, that this might be the best option.
Within the past month, Mom has had a lot of pain in her abdomen. She was admitted to the hospital on Monday, June 27 and has been there since. We were told that it was cancer again. The cancer had caused an obstruction of her bowels that was causing the pain. She was having trouble eating and had lost a lot of her strength. They are trying hard to relieve her pain and make her comfortable during this time. We are waiting to hear from doctors this week to hopefully hear what comes next. We need all the prayers we can get at this point and would really appreciate you sending good thoughts her way. My Dad is amazing and has never left her side through all of this. You never know strength until you see it first hand in people like him. Please, pray for miracles for the bravest woman I know, my best friend, and my mom.
We could all use a little hope somehow. I tried to bring Mom some hope by creating this video for her. I wanted her to know that she isn’t alone in this horrible fight and that we will all rise up and fight with and for her. Mom, I love you to the moon and back, more than beans and rice.

Reilly, please know how sorry I am for not asking about your mom when you walked past my house with your sweet little dog last week. Sometimes I get shy and nervous about speaking with people who I know something about when I'm not even sure they've heard my name before. And I truly regret not setting those feelings aside and telling you how I am praying for your mom's healing and your family's strength and asking you how she's been. I hadn't heard anything in a few months and had been wondering how things were going. We are a small community, but we are great. I know that there is little I can give to you to help, but I can, and I will, pray and pray and pray for healing.
