Derek bowled!!

Derek is still doing well. He only has about 2 weeks left of radiation to go. We returned the wheelchair which is a good thing. We went bowling for Kate's birthday and he was able to bowl, which he was worried he would would not be strong enough. He bowled 2 games.

We found out on Wednesday that I(mom) have Parotid cancer. The parotid gland is in front of the ear and is a salivary gland. That is all we know at this point. I will meet with an oncologist as well as the ENT Dr that will be removing the tumor next week. So we will see what they have to say and start my journey. Derek has been especially encouraging and supportive. It was a shock but we are strong and together we will tackle this latest bump in the road. Again we have the strongest support from my work family. They are all so truly amazing.

I love the picture of Derek and Kate boweling. Way to go on boweling two games Derek! I usually just do one because I'm not that good. Angela, my goodness. Words have escape me. You are and have always been an inspiration to me when growing up. Your faith is so remarkable! I just know God's got your back. Now on the humor side. I think back to when we were young; we should of gone sky diving before we turned 25.

Your family is in my daily prayers Angela. This chapter of your lives is very eventful. Again, I can only imagine what you are going through. Your strength is amazing and truly from God! There is a method to the madness. Trusting in God's plans for your family is what we can do. Tons of virtual hugs to each of you! Great job bowling Derek!!!

As so glad that Derek was able to do some bowling. He told me on Sunday he really wanted to..such determination. Angie, what an unexpected turn for you. Ajay and I will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers. Pastor said on Sunday "the wine is almost gone". God's plans are unknown. He will be your rock. When everything happened with me and my family I always kept these words close to me that if God brings you to it, He will also bring you through it. Lots of love to you. I am here anytime you need to talk or need anything.

Words do not express how we, meaning I want to pull you on my lap and rock you! As a mom that is the only thing I know how to do - you are grown woman - but if you ever need to be held - my mom arms are open. On a much lighter note - this picture is so awesome!! love, love, love it! Sweetest thing ever!

Oh my Angela! That seems so inconceivable! I'm glad you all got to go bowling for Kate's birthday! I'm sure doing "normal" things is a good morale booster for all!

Rejoicing in Derek bowling and leaving the wheelchair behind; pondering your news. Wow......... just wow. May Jesus hug you closely today and always. "In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my all in all, Here in the love of Christ I stand." - Keith Getty and Stuart Townend
