A rough night and a better day

After the fluid was drained off Derek's brain last night, he fell asleep for a short while. He then was wide awake for a good part of the night(he states he slept 1% of the night) but his mind was in overdrive. He was seeing and hearing things most of the night. He had my husband look out the window into the hall to see the disco dance party with all of the nurses in red dresses and Armin Van Buuren music playing, only he was holding up his bed sheet and looking at that. That is just one example, it went on for hours.

Today he was more comfortable. He had a quick MRI that showed the butterfly formation of the ventricles coming back into shape. He will have a full MRI tomorrow to get another look.

These long days have taken a lot out of me(Angela) and I am just exhausted. Must still have a little healing of my own still being done. I have my post op with my plastic surgeon tomorrow. It is so strange to not be able to feel your ear.

That's all for today. We will see what tomorrow holds.
