Another boy with the same cancer as Derek
Sometime in January a family who we do not know reached out to us because they heard of Derek's condition. Their boy, Judah, had the exact same cancer as Derek, anaplastic astrocytoma. They were very kind and offered us any kind of assistance and advice they could. Judah was diagnosed in December of 2013. He went through the same treatments that Derek has already done and that Derek will be going through.

This hits close to home. And is a very real life reminder to Angela and I that Derek and our family still have a very long road ahead. And even though Derek seems to be moderately stable at the moment, he is at the very start of a very long journey. And if the last few weeks are any indicator, his cancer should not to be taken lightly.
Please continue to pray for a full recovery for Derek. And please remember Judah's family in your prayers.

So sad to her of Judah. Our prayers are with his family. We know Derek has a long road in front of him but he does have a wonderful family to be with him. Cancer is ugly and we all have to remember how terrible it is. We pray daily for Derek's full recovery and victory over his cancer. Our love to all of you.
