Recovering peacefully
I'm sitting beside the person who makes me whole and she looks fabulous, just 12 hours after we woke up today, and just 5 hours after her surgery. Eden is resting comfortably, sleeping well, and is sparkling with beauty.
The surgeon has done what he does and Eden is speaking, smiling, acting gracefully, and all around being the incredible person she is. Most of the rest of the day, she will sleep and recover, but she's already had some simple bites of food, and tonight she should be able to order whatever delicious hospital food she wants.
As everyone knows, Eden likes to run 1/2 marathons, which has given her the mental and physical fortitude to get through this. Maybe it's the other way around? Her constitution is what enables her to be a runner and fighter. Either way, I'm the luckiest man in the world.
