Quarantine Update #2-May 2020

It's been a few months since my last update. So little has happened in the last few months-I'm sure we've all felt that! Besides 2 trips into Seattle for doctors appointments, we remain on the Olympic Peninsula in our beach cabin and continue to appreciate the seclusion and quiet time we're spending with the girls, when they're willing to hang out with us. We've watched a few old movies, in an attempt to expose Julia and Alina to some quality popular culture: The Graduate and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Having grown up in a suburb of Chicago, Ferris Bueller holds a special place in my heart. Lighthearted fun!

I'll get to the newsworthy medical stuff. 1. We pushed my MRI out to late April due to COVID19 concerns and entering a large medical facility where I could be exposed to the Coronavirus. We received the same MRI update as we did in January, 3 months ago: Stable over the last 1.5 years, but again, hard to compare to my prior scan. I'd prefer a complete remission over stable, but I'll take what I can get because stable beats a recurrence any day of the week. So, for now, I have to live in the grey area, treat my body with good food, rehab, rest, exercise, remain positive and grateful, especially during this time. 2. Ocular Shingles=pretty but painful, came along with a headache that lasted about 20 days. Fortunately I was seen very early by an ophthalmologist, who confirmed that there were no shingles in my eye, which can be very serious! Why just do the quarantine like an amateur when you can do it like a pro with shingles? Kidding aside, I'm happy to say that my headache has subsided in the last few days, I'm feeling much better and the swelling and redness have gone down! My dermatologist is amazing! She called it right away on a telehealth appointment AND she was able to get me in that day to see the ophthalmologist and get me on an antiviral, among other meds, immediately.

I do want to share my gratitude for those my friends and family who remain healthy during this time or are recovering from COVID19 Infections. Please continue to feel good and stay strong, remain positive...

until next update... and lets all hope we're safely past this quarantine by then.

love and stay healthy,

Eden
