A Quiet Sabbath
Edward and I slept well last night for the first time in about a week and a half. It was a Sabbath miracle! Eight hours of sleep. A-MAZ-ING!
We had a quiet morning reading and sleeping. Edward had a little more pain, but they raised the rate of his epidural just a tad, and it seems to have helped. He also gets toradol about every six hours, and the combination has been pretty successful. His chest tube dressing had to be changed in the afternoon and that was hard on him, but he got to cuddle with Nani and then take a ride in the wagon through the quiet weekend hospital halls with Henry running around nearby, so his day got better.
He went to sleep for the night at 6:00, just like at home, and he has slept very quietly, with no grunting or fidgeting or moaning. I've been thanking God all day for this pain relief. I really think solid, uninterrupted sleep is the best thing to heal the thoracic duct and end the chylothorax by Monday.
Kameron stayed home to put Henry to bed, since he hasn't done that in a few days, and then he's coming to hang out with me for a bit.
Thanks for your prayers and messages. The Lord has answered all of your prayers for pain relief and sleep! I hope it is His will to keep Edward from a second surgery, too. Either way, we are feeling very grateful tonight.

Oh Emilie praise the Lord for more answers to prayer, a true Sabbath rest for you and Edward and some fun family time. We continue to lift you all in prayer. We hope also that it will be in God's will that Edward doesn't have to have more surgery, that he will be quickly restored to good health and able to come home soon. We are all so looking forward to seeing you both again soon.

I thank our Heavenly Father for His loving care over all four of you; in granting the much needed rest last night. It is nothing but a miracle. Good night's rest is the best medicine for healing. What a little trooper.....mom and dad are real troopers as well. I agree that good sleep is essential for the healing process. God provides and makes a way where there doesn't seem to be a way. Prayers are being answered and we will continue to hold each of you before our Loving God
