Project Linus
If you have never heard about Project Linus, here's the scoop. Volunteers around the country hand create blankets for children who are admitted to a hospital. They give of their time, talent, and materials, so that children who are in scary situations can take comfort in having a special blanket that stays with them at all times during their hospitalization, and that they can take home with them. Emma received a beautiful blanket, handmade by a lady named Marilyn M., from Belleville, WI.

Marilyn has never met Emma or my family. She doesn't know anything about our situation. Yet she created this beautiful gift from the goodness of her heart. It moved me to find that these lovely people exist, and I can't thank Marilyn and Project Linus enough. In a tough moment it brought a smile to our faces.
