New news
It’s been a while since we blogged, as we were relaxing in a week or so of no real symptoms. Emma had had such a fantastic week, we were starting to forget…

Emma started autism therapy last week, and she seems to respond to her therapist incredibly well. She is going three times per week for two hours each time.
On Wednesday, Emma fell asleep randomly in the middle of the day. It wasn’t nap time. It was odd, but we didn’t think too much of it.
We dropped Emma off at therapy on Thursday morning. An hour and 15 minutes later I received a call that Emma had fallen, and fallen asleep. That I needed to go and get her. When I arrived, the therapists told me that Emma had been walking down a hallway, and fallen straight on to her face. She hadn’t put out her hands to protect herself. She cried, briefly, and then fell asleep. They couldn’t wake her.

I took her home and called Dr. S., Emma’s pediatric neurologist. After I called, Emma had two more of these falling spells. I called again, and we were given an appointment for this morning to have another EEG performed.
Our poor little lady doesn’t like EEGs. She hates having the transmitters attached. She was very brave, and managed to fall asleep for a while.

After we had been home for about two hours, we heard from Dr. S. She told us that yet again Emma had an abnormal EEG reading. She shows periods of slow rhythmic waves. They aren’t typical seizure waves, but they are “different”. So, this tiny little lady will be admitted to the hospital once again. On Monday morning I will take Emma back to the pediatric unit for another overnight video-recorded test.
We will write from the hospital, and keep you all in the loop. I will take the donations in to the Ronald McDonald Family Room, so if anyone has any last minute boxed goods, I can pick them up this weekend! Thanks to everyone who has already given me items to take.
Keep your positive thoughts for Emmy!
Much love,
K&A
