Second day: full rundown!
We are home!
Emma was hooked up to the EEG monitor for 28 hours in total. She was a superstar.
We were able to capture a lot of footage while hospitalized, and the doctors had some great opportunities to look at the symptoms we were describing.

THE GOOD NEWS: While Emma's EEG is still considered abnormal, and still shows slow wave patterns, those patterns do not necessarily correlate with the strange episodes of behavior that she is experiencing. As such, we do NOT have a seizure disorder diagnosis!
The "hmmmm" news: Emma's doctors observed the falling-without-control that we had described. Emma's neurologist believes that it is a result of low muscle tone coupled with brain damage -- a neuron problem. We are now being referred to a rehabilitation physician to discuss whether or not we should consider leg braces, etc, for the little lady. For now, at least, we are not at helmet stage. That's a huge relief.
I'll try and get some photos up over the next few days. Unfortunately Emmy didn't sleep very well in the hospital, which meant that neither Mama nor Grandma had a lot of sleep!

Thanks for tuning in!

I'm not sure but I think this a positive thing? Praying for all of you at this time. She should rest better in her own surroundings I would think. Pray you get rest also.
Relieved to hear there is no seizure disorder and no helmet hair for darling Emma! I've been sending positive vibes your way and will continue to do so, but it doesn't feel like enough. Can I bring you and the family a meal sometime soon, or is there another way I can take a little weight off of your shoulders? Please let me know. Love you all. xx
I'm thinking about you and your family. Emma is in such good and loving hands. Laurie
