Keeping a Community Connected

After the sudden onset of symptoms on 4/4/2021, Eric was admitted to the ER in Helena, MT and a brain mass was discovered. Later that evening he was flown to the University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City, to meet with his neurosurgical team (which includes one of his past students).

On 4/5/2021, Eric's 46th birthday, he underwent neurosurgery and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As much of the tumor as possible was removed and he is in the process of being transferred to Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. Eric is recovering well from surgery and continuing to make jokes typical of his dry humor. At this point the next steps are uncertain.

The aim for this site is to keep family and friends informed and organized as we rally to support Eric. I will try and post updates and reach out when Eric and Johnanna need help. Thank you to all of the friends and family who have reached out and helped with everything - food and care for J's parents, dog care, teaching classes, keeping the business running...

We are in the process of setting up a donations function on this site to ease the financial burden of Eric's medical expenses - thank you to those who have asked. I will add a post as soon as the donation function is up and running.

Much love,

Emily Livengood (Eric's sister) and the entire Sullivan family

Thinking of you, Eric. Saw the pictures of you with the favorite PT, but does she have enough experience? Mainly surviving the sense of humor? We would like to hear the things you said under anesthesia. Are they different that the things you say in the office? Wishing you well as you get well. Steve Harper (guy down the hall from you)

Eric, we are praying for you, my man. Keep up the great attitude and hang in there! When you come out of this, just think of the great stories you can conjure up about the scars on your head! You are strong and you will get through this. We are all in your corner. Gary Fischer
