Unremarkable!

Neither of us have ever been happier to hear the word: unremarkable. Especially accompanied by the words: stable, comfortable.

Eric had lab work and a MRI this week to see how his body tolerated the surgery followed by 6 weeks of chemoradiation. This essentially will provide the new baseline going forward. It was his first scan after the first round of treatment finished. A friend of Johnanna's had  previously had told her that test anxiety was a real thing. Johnanna didn't really understand as we were still in the phase where everything was new and scary. But yes, Johnanna totally agrees, test anxiety is a real thing.

The good news is that Eric's lab work shows he is beginning to recover from treatment, that his body is tolerating everything well.

The MRI is fairly "unremarkable" and shows no signs of disease progression! While there are some findings of swelling/irritation around the occipital tumor, that was expected due to not surgically resecting that tumor. The swelling and irritation are consistent with post-treatment findings. Overall, the MRI scan and lab work indicate that Eric is stable, has no signs of new tumor growth, and is in a comfortable position as we enter the next treatment phase.

While Eric's recovery continues and moves into a new phase, our July has been anything but unremarkable. We continue to feel your love and support in so many ways every day. We have been staying busy continuing to experience as many adventures as possible! Framily (friends that are truly part of our family) visiting from across the country, lake days with local friends, fishing local rivers with Johnanna's dad, several paddling adventures, lots of hiking, introducing old friends to local friends, saying "See You Later" to very special members of our Framily who are setting off on a new adventure of their own, and of course, lots and lots of dog snuggles! Each of these adventures has created precious memories for both of us.

Being called "unremarkable", "stable", and "comfortable" feels oddly victorious! Eric and Johnanna both deeply feel that we wouldn't be here without each and every one of you. Every thing that every one has done for us; no matter how small or inconsequential you thought the gesture was at the time, it lead us here. Unremarkable, Stable and Comfortable.

We continue to be thankful for having each of you in our lives and for your support! From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU!!! Yes, we are shouting it! THANK YOU!
