Round 2.....complete!

We had so much fun during Emily's visit. It is always chaotic when any of the Sullivan clan visit, but a lot of love accompanies that chaos! It was so fun to involve Emily in our daily life as well as a few bonus activities. Floating, paddle boarding, hiking, and more. A great time was had by all.

Shortly after Emily left, we had a chance to meet up with a collection of Eric's former students. Thanks to Delaney for organizing! It was fun to meet up with all of them, touch base, and learn how their lives are developing. What cool people to take time out of their busy lives to hang out with a former professor! Thanks to everyone who made it! Maybe we should do it again!?!

Shortly after the last post, Eric started and successfully finished Round 2 of chemo. We have 6 rounds planned, so he is officially 1/3 done with chemo. Round 2 included a dose escalation and thus resulted a few more side effects. Eric handled it well, taking each day at a time. Doing what he had to do. Battling side effects wasn't easy but with a lot of help, Eric got through it. We were even able to even sneak in a few adventures! Farmer's market, hiking on Mt. Helena, and more.

Eric started teaching classes at Carroll College a couple days ago. He is teaching Intro to Stats, and Advanced Statistics this semester. He is excited to be back in the classroom, excited to meet all of his students (some new and some previous students), nervous about how the semester will go, busy prepping and planning, and doing all of the normal beginning of the school year things. All-in-all, it seems as if this semester is off to a good start! Eric and I are both incredibly grateful for his awesome colleagues who have stepped in to help Eric in so many ways.

From here, it is onward and upward. A couple weeks for Eric's body to begin recovering from this round of chemo. Then some blood-work in a few weeks to make sure he is tolerating this dosing, and a MRI later that week to see how the tumors are responding to treatment. These tests are a few weeks away but we have already started looking forward to them and are continuously hoping for the best results possible.

The next few weeks will be spent recovering, teaching, working, hiking, finding adventures, and hopefully another visit from Sullivan family!

Good news. Thank you for the update, Johnanna. Smiling at Prof Eric back at it. Math rules, but you already know that. Math, the language required to solve problems of our world. That and a bunch of fun, frolic, and heart. Eric is the perfect mix for this topic. Again, smiling your way from across the gulch, BnP

That is wonderful news! I know he will be a mean instructor and try to avoid the median in his work. At least, that is my null hypothesis. Good luck, Eric. Have fun and make it fun.
