Eric and I wanted to take a minute to update everyone. This past couple of weeks have been rough for both of us.

A couple weeks ago, Eric had an MRI to assess how treatment is going. Unfortunately, the MRI was less definitive than we had hoped. There are several signals on the MRI that could be interpreted a couple of different ways. The short version is that the MRI shows a size difference in the tumor that wasn't surgically resected. Unfortunately, that size difference could mean that the tumor is growing, or it may be treatment effect (swelling and irritation) from the chemo/radiation.[...]

More Sullivan Family chaos

September -- time for more Sullivan Family chaos!

Mom and Dad Sullivan hit Helena last weekend for a quick four-day visit.  Took us the better part of a whole day to fly from LaCrosse, Wisconsin to Helena, Montana, but once we lavished hugs on both Eric and J (and Aspen dog), we launched off on trail hikes with Eric and a visit to J's PT clinic and the Farmers Market.  Eric and Dad biked to the Carroll campus where Dad attended Eric's advanced Stats class and Prof Eric assigned Dad to a student work group. Even sent him a reminder to submit his homework on time.  Eric proved that he is much better acclimated to the Helena altitude while Dad huffed and puffed on his bike up the hills to home.[...]

Head for the Cure

The Sullivan family is made up of a bunch of do-ers (if that is even a word). We are not known for sitting still or waiting patiently. We are a group of action-oriented, results-driven set of people. Living so far from Eric in Kansas City, I have been struggling to know what I could do. We stay connected and help Eric and J any way we can, but sometimes it doesn't feel like enough.[...]
