Bathtime and Snow
Yesterday was a good day. Gracie enjoyed her first bath in a cushy tub with something like an air mattress with holes to let the water go through. And the video of the event yesterday brought on a long hard smile Gracie! Special thanks to Jenny Schatzle, and our friends and neighbors that attended her event and gave so generously!
Today I thought the shade was down in Grace's room, but after a closer look, discovered it was a sheet of snow coming down almost horizontally. Emily told Grace that for her birthday present tomorrow, she wants Grace to get in her wheelchair to go outside to look at the snow.
Ken Burke, an old Westlake High School friend, brought the girls gift bags from Bags of Fun and bagels for the family for breakfast. Kenny is a former Cal State high jump champion. He jumped 7'2". When I told Emily, she asked if he needed a stick to jump that high.
This afternoon we watched the Superbowl as a family. Another of Bill's friends from high school, Jeffra Johnson Frank, provided all the fixings of veggies, crackers, dip, chili and brownies. Yesterday, Debbie's friend Donna from high school was going to pick up just a few items, but instead stocked us with fresh fruit, special snacks, essential foods and even bathroom amenities. We are certainly blessed by our Santa Barbara community, and now old friends here in Denver to ease some of the burden in this transition.
Love and Gratitude,
Debbie

For those of you that did not see the Facebook post, Jenny Schatzle's event for Gracie was able to raise over $4500 for the Fisher family. For a fundraiser that was only a couple days in the making, that's an amazing result. Thank you Jenny for making that happen!

Hi, great to hear that things are going well. We sure hope that Gracie gets to see and smell and feel the snow. Anja and Jeff took the girls to Mammoth. They are having a great time but need the Denver snow. No snow. Maybe they should have gone to Denver? Tons of good wishes for Gracie's recovery from the Crosby,s and Hunter's. Happy Birthday Emily. Wallie
