Lung CT Scan Results
After our first meeting with the doctors at SCCA, they wanted me to undergo another CT scan of my lungs, as the original CT scan focused on the pelvic/abdomen region, which only showed the bottom of the lungs, and they wanted to check to see if the cancer has spread beyond what they could see.
The doctor called a couple days ago to talk about the results of the CT scan and asked me to grab Sam and put her on the phone as well. Based on that, I knew the results wouldn't be good. The doctor then informed us that there are approximately 40-50 1 cm nodules of cancer on my lungs as well, compared to the 12-13 nodules on my liver.
I wasn't very surprised, nor was I really shaken, because the chemotherapy will attack the cancer in all organs, but this is just another minor speedbump. The good thing is that based on the blood test results, my liver and lung functionality is still at 100%, and there is no need to be concerned until that changes (WHICH IT WON'T, BECAUSE THE CHEMO WILL KILL IT BEFORE IT DOES). Nor does this change the overall prognosis and life expectancy.
Despite this, I will still continue to have my meeting with the UW Liver tumor clinic on Tuesday, 4/29/14, who will examine my case, consult as a team of surgeons, oncologists, and other physicians to help me figure out the best course for my liver.
Knowing what we know now, chemo before any surgery was definitely the right choice, given that it has metastasized to more than one organ. Still feeling optimistic, looking forward to my next chemotherapy to continue putting the hurt on the cancer despite what ever side effects may get worse.

Continued prayers for you, Jerome. Love you dearly...
I am glad that you got your results of the CT scan and thank you for sharing. We now know everything you are up-against! We all know it is something you have already started to overcome. Use the findings of these scans to visualize the Chemo killing these cancer nodules and the cells of your cancerous tumor(s). I pray for your chemo infusion to be highly successful and with visualization, I imagine the chemo stopping the cancer cell division so it can take care of business wherever the cancer is at in the cell-cycle. Thank you for choosing the most aggressive chemo, I am so proud of your choice. Let us know what you need. Stay strong, confident and positive like all the 3,400+ visitors supporting you. ~Kuya Paul
