From Mother to her beloved Son

Greetings Family and Friends,

This past week marks one month since our dear Jerome was called home and today is the eve of Jerome's first Heavenly Birthday.  Below is a letter written to Jerome from his mother, Yolanda Luceno Jimenez, originally shared on Facebook and during his Memorial Service.  As we surround ourselves with family and friends this holiday season I wanted to remind us all to cherish each moment.  Every day we have truly is a present.[...]

Balance

Hello Everyone,

With the full help, support, and guidance of our family and friends, I spent this past week preparing and setting everything up so that we can all pay our last respects to Jerome this weekend. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate for every ounce of outreach that I've received from literally everywhere.  I will be sharing my specific thank you's soon.[...]

Parking/Carpooling

Hello all,

If you plan to attend the Viewing and Memorial service tomorrow (Friday, 11/18) at Marlatt Funeral Home, please note that parking is limited.  If you arrive and the lot is full, there is more parking across the street next to the Chevron on the corner of Central Ave N and W James St or at Kent Station a little further down W James St.  People are also encouraged to carpool, especially on Saturday (11/19) for the Funeral, Burial, and Reception.  [...]

11/11/16 - Jerome's interview at the beginning of hospice

Hello everyone - Sam (Jerome's wife) here.

I wanted to share this video montage that our extremely talented godfather, Norb Caoili, created.  When Jerome started hospice at the end of September, Uncle Norb asked if he could interview Jerome about his thoughts regarding everything that he has gone through since his initial diagnosis.  Jerome didn't have any visibility to the questions prior to the interview, but in true Jerome fashion, he answered the questions with poise, sincerity, and a full heart.  Uncle Norb was able to capture the very essence of what Jerome has learned about life along the way and what he wants to share with all of our loved ones and beyond.  We are deeply touched and forever grateful.  [...]

11/8/16 - The Disease Progresses

Happy November and election day, everyone! The last week has shown progression in my disease unfortunately, and below are some updates.

Mobility: The last couple days have presented changes that have significantly impacted my ability to get around. My ankles have swollen, the tumor in my lower abdomen has been protruding out from under my ribcage making it difficult to bend forward, and basic movements are now exhausting. Luckily I have a cane to help me get around the house, but leaving is proving to be increasingly difficult.[...]

9/29/16 - How Life Has Changed This Past Week

This past week I've learned so much. Much about myself, where I am in life, but mostly of all about my support system and how cared for my family and I are by all of you. This has been the most difficult week in our lives, but your support, prayers, messages, and love have made it as tolerable as possible for Sam, Caleb, and me, and for that we're grateful to you.[...]
