Infusion 9 and Surgery Update

Hello friends and family!  Another quick update on the latest infusion that happened last Tuesday (8/19).  Infusion 9 went by much quicker for some reason (only 4 hours), and the side effects were similar to before.  The one good news from the infusion was that the CEA count is down again from 1.5 to 1.1, which is exciting.

Based on the latest CT scan, Dr. Back contacted the liver tumor clinics and apparently they want to do surgery sooner rather than later.  I have a tentative surgery date for late September where they plan to do a colon resection, liver resection, and lung resection, removing the parts of the organs that have been infected by the cancer.  This will be a major surgery requiring around a month's time worth of recovery.  I'm optimistic everything will go wonderfully well, and am excited to be taking one of the last steps in my treatment.  Based on discussions, it sounds like there will be more chemo after the surgery, just to make sure we got all the cancer out.

I can't thank you enough for all your support, and thanks for reading!

Please let me know if you guys need anything before, during or after the recovery period. Hoping surgery goes well and that they can get most of it out so the remaining chemo has an easy job killing off the remaining cancer cells. Continued thoughts and prayers with you now and always. Hugs!
