January 19th, 2018

I started my fourth day of chemo today, so I am calling this hump day!  Today was a good day. No appointments or procedures were scheduled so I could just go for walks, reading and so on.  My energy level is remaining about the same so this is good news.  The more energy I can carry into the later days of this will help out.

Mark and Ted (friends from work) brought me an amazing gift basket for R&H Construction today.  It was great to see Mark and Ted for lunch and have some conversation.  And I want to thank R&H for being so thoughtful to Karen and I.  It is very appreciated.

I am going to now order some dinner and go for another walk before bed.

Cheers

Kevin, Sorry to hear about your personal challenge. There is never a good time and it is always inconvenient especially when you are at the top of your game. When you are my age, you have seen more of this than you care to recall. From what i have observed, there are three things that seem to make a difference. First, stubborn help. You have a leg up here. Second, minimize stress. This usually involves some life style changes and it is OK to say no if it is good for you. Third, do exactly as the medical team demands. The protocols are very tight, demanding and subject to change, but all very necessary. If you start feeling overwhelmed, call someone. The diversion can spur you on. Say something nice to your team. They sometimes take your emotions home with them. Remember we are here for you. You can even call me.....206-714-8729. Frank Klein
