Today marks the end of my chemo for now.  At 2:00 this afternoon the last bag ran out juice and I was disconnected.  This is big for a couple of reasons.  It marks a benchmark for me.  7 days of chemo, check.  Next up, 7 days of worry while the chemo in my blood continues to take my immune system down to zero.  Another 7 days of waiting for my bone marrow (stem cells) to fire back up and restart my immune system.  Then, hopefully, a final 7 days waiting for my system to get back up to full strength and they send me home.  So like I said, good benchmark today.

The second lesser reason this is a good day is I don't have to push that damn wheeled stand full of bags and monitors.  Chaining yourself to a piece of steel for 7 days and dragging it around everywhere is a total pain!  Furthermore, I think they were intentionally designed to not travel in a straight line!

Thank you everyone for your outpouring of support.  It is very humbling.

Great news! Thank you for keeping us posted:) Sounds like 7 is your lucky number, time to purchase lotto tickets and scratch its! I suggest you have wheel chair races, that would keep you busy for a bit. Keep up the positive attitude and hang in there!! Janine

25% down. That's 25 more percent than a week ago. Gotta start a marathon somewhere, right? Hey, if you got Netflix....binge on every supposedly good show that's out there!!! Your attitude is ...I don't know how to say it...admirable for what you're dealing with! But it's awesome to read about! Brian

Sounds to me like you have 21 days to design a better "Stan". Maybe Karen could bring you some graph paper.

I think I heard that humor helps most things..? This won’t need to be pushed in a crooked line, just tap and hopefully it will work? Also do you recommend painted or stained kitchen cabinets? Your honest opinion please ;) https://iluvpodcasts.wordpress.com/2010/07/13/the-top-10-funniest-david-sedaris-stories-from-this-american-life/ Keep kicking ass Kevin!
