I checked out of the hospital yesterday and went home! I had no idea that I would be as nervous as I was about leaving the hospital. When I left the hospital I barely had a very weak, functioning immune system. The idea of that started to sink in and scare me about going home. This is normal protocol for my condition so I will trust the doctors. As the doctor said, less germs at home than at a hospital.
Being home is great, but very different. First thing I noticed is that we cannot keep the house as warm as the hospital room. This is a problem since I have lost a lot of weight and get cold easier. I am just going to have to dress warm. Since being home I am doing a lot more walking around doing little things, I spend a lot more time now getting food out, prepping, eating and putting away. This is good to keep me moving. Great to sleep in my own bed!
My job right now is to rest, eat (which is getting a little easier) and get stronger. I think being home is going to help me do this.
